Highway

The Town Highway Department conducts year-round maintenance on

  • 91.60 Miles of Roadways
  • Sidewalks
  • Stormwater Infrastructure

Including winter plowing and sanding, cleaning roads of sand and litter in the spring, cleaning and upgrading of drainage ditches and basins, patching and resurfacing of roads, repair and installation of new roadside signs.

The Town is also responsible for winter maintenance on 15 miles of County Roads. They are Tom Miller Rd., Rand Hill Rd., Archie Bourdeau Rd., Irish Settlement Rd., Salmon River Rd., and The Commodore Thomas Macdonough Highway.

The Highway Department also reviews and approves driveway permit applications for Town Roads. If you live on a County or State Highway, you must contact those agencies for driveway permits.

Parking Ban

There is a Parking Ban in effect on Town roads November 1st to April 30th, 11:00 pm to 6:00 am.
