The Town conducts year round maintenance on 91.60
miles of roadways.
Maintenance included is winter plowing and sanding, cleaning
roads of sand and litter in the spring, cleaning and upgrading
of drainage ditches and basins, patching and resurfacing of roads,
repair and installation of new roadside signs.
The Town is responsible for winter maintenance on 15 miles
of County Roads. They are Tom Miller Rd., Rand Hill Rd., Archie
Bourdeau Rd. Irish Settlement Rd., Salmon River Rd., and The
Commodore Thomas Macdonough Highway.
Parking Ban on Town Roads is in effect Nov. 1st to April 30th
/ 11:00pm to 6:00am
Highway Permits are needed for any and all work conducted within
the Town’s Right of Way. (For most town roads this is twenty-five
feet left and right from the centerline of the roadway) please
contact this office for confirmation of right of way measurements
on your road. There is a twenty-five dollar charge for a Highway

for all new driveways as well as extensions of existing driveways.
